I have a gold card. I always pay the full amount. I oay all my amex cards in full when there are charges***I am constantly offered an upgrade to platinum every dingle time I loginto an amex page.***My everyday card limit is only $****.***I was told because i dont use it.***So i used it alot. I was told by one of your people we have very sophisticated computers and see you are buying groceries.***Im ** there is no way i would eat that much.***It turns out my purchases at a store called "Soriana" in mexico was being listed as groceries. I was buying bikes to give to kids at the american legion amongst other things. "Soriana" is equivalent to walmart. You can buy anything there.***So Ive stopped using the everyday card which I also payed in full. If I use a low limit card I am hit at credit bureaus for over ultilization.***Still dont understand how a***I am worthy of an upgrade to platinum much less having a gold card.***It has caused me to think about closing my amex cards. Which if youlook I did at one time but a friend said it would hurt my credit so I reopened them.***I have but a few points from getting *** on the different scores and my goal is to reach that.***But I think more and more to just bite the bullet and close them. I as i said stopped using the everday and I removed all the users on the gold and you will see the charges on that have gone down.***When I get that next $*** charge on that gold rest assured I will strongly deliberate closing them.***Ive brought it up and they have offered to look with a hard inquiry. I dont want any hard inquiries this close to ***.
