I've been looking at buying a new laptop for myself before the new year, but I keep going back and forth on options. It's a big decision, and before investing, I want to make sure I choose a laptop that can perform the way I want it to. I have my eye on a Lenovo Yoga, but I haven't owned a Lenovo before so I have several questions about the brand. While I could go to Best Buy and talk to an agent, I like speaking to brands directly. I find that gives me a good feel for how the customer service will be down the line if I have any issues.

Therefore, I decided to call Lenovo and talk to someone from their sales team to learn more about their options. I figured there may be a long wait because it's just after Christmas, and a lot of people probably have support and return questions. That's just the nature of the holidays. Instead, I seemed to encounter a broken service line. Rather than a greeting, when I called this number it would immediately launch into this statement, "For ThinkServe, press 1. For all others, press 2." I tried twice and both times I pressed 2 there was just a long silence and then a voice telling me that my call couldn't be completed. 

So then I tried another number I found online for Lenovo and the experience was completely different. To my surprise, I was able to get to a customer service agent in just 42 seconds. That has rarely happened to me, so I can say that Lenovo gets high marks when it comes to excellent customer service.

By the way, the number I called was 1-800-253-6686. When I called it, I was greeted by an automated agent who gave me these options, "Hello, Thanks for calling Lenovo. Let’s get you to the right place. I have three options for technical service, sales or customer care. For technical support or warranty questions for a product or service you already own, please press 1. To speak with Lenovo sales for new orders or questions about a product, please press 2. To speak to customer care about an existing order, please press 3." I then chose 2 and it gave me two more options, "If your call concerns small business or pro sales, please press 1. If your call concerns Lenovo Alligent, please press 2. Or hold and I'll get you to a team member." 

None of those applied to me so I just stayed on the line and after a long pause, a customer service agent with a thick accent answered. While I had to listen carefully, they were able to answer my questions so altogether the experience wasn't too bad.
